The Department of Welfare is in charge of helping citizens that are in need of financial assistance due to income or lack of income. There are four major programs that are intended to help out. The first is Children Assistance Program (CAP) which provides financial aid to those that have children, and in need of financial help. The second is Disability Assistance Program (DAP) which brings the citizen to the poverty line. The third is Food Assistance Program (FAP) which helps by providing low income households with resources to acquire food. The last program is Worker’s Compensation Assistance (WCA). This program provides money for employees that were fired or laid off.

Each program has minimum requirements in order to receive the benefits. Again, these programs are for citizens only. Foreign nationals will not qualify for any of these programs. There are additional programs such as housing assistance, and everyone qualifies for One Care.
