GAON

The GAON (Government Authorization Order Number) is definitely a mouthful, but acts as a one time authentication to provide to a company for opening accounts with that company. Since the GIN must never be given out, the GAON is the option for proving identity, but the number only works with the one company, and only for 30 days. In addition, a citizen can have only 3 GAON numbers at one time. This limits the potential for fraud, and abuse with the numbering system.

The way it will work is the citizen will log into the portal online (https://portal.hhs.ka), and sign in with their GIN, NIN, and password. These three things are required to successfully log in. When they wish to create an account, they will go through the process of creating a GAON. They will select setup account, and choose from one of the number of companies that are authorized to operate in Kaldus. Once they select the company, they will then be granted with a GAON which will be 14 digits long and alphanumeric. Alphanumeric is when the number contains both letters and numbers. The GAON is not intended to be an easy number as it is how one will create accounts, and do other possible nefarious things. Once the citizen receives their GAON, they can then use that number with the appropriate company to prove that you are who you say you are. The company representative will enter the GAON, and NIN into a portal site, and if the combination is correct, they will see the name of the citizen, photo, and various other information that is located on the ID card. This will prove that the service was desired, and that it is authorized. The company must only be able to accept the citizen when setting up the account, and not a “representative”. If the company supports it, they could also create an account online.
