LIHP (Low Income Housing Project) is government housing for those that are low income. This allows for 1BR – 4BR apartments to be made available to the family based on the family size. For example, a single person can not acquire a 4BR apartment. The housing project will be new construction, and therefore must meet NSC requirements. This will assure that the housing project will have all of the expected features and capabilities of new housing, and will likely impress the household. The goal will be to give housing options that the household will be happy to live in. If they want to live there, they will be less likely to not pay their rent.
To apply, the head of the household will log into their HHS account, and go to Social Welfare > Services > LIHP. During the application process, the applicant will choose which communities they will want to move to. Once a housing option in any of the selected communities becomes available to them, they will be notified immediately. They then have 30 days to confirm the selection. If they decline, or ignore the confirmation, they will lose their space, and the next available applicant will be offered their space. LIHP will cost 35% of all adult household income. The tenant is required to add any people that would be living with them if this became the case in the future. To not report this will be to commit fraud. Overnight visitors do not qualify as someone moving in.
Housing projects will include electricity (with exception to vehicle charging), and will have a battery system that should last a couple of days if the grid goes out. Water, and sewage is also required. The household pays for their own trash by buying trash bags. All trash bags will be bio-degradeable. The tenant is responsible for Internet, Telephone, and Television. Satellite Internet service will not be available to the household.
All buildings of 15+ stories will have an automated parking system. Since the parking garage space is not an essential resource, DOH will be able to charge a monthly fee for parking. Also, if there is an electric plugin vehicle, then the tenant will be responsible for paying the bill. This will be done through the ID card, and since the ID card is tied to the bank account, then the user will authorize DOH to charge for the vehicle charging. The vehicle owner does not have to plug in their vehicle.
