Health1

Health1 is Kaldus’ single payer health care system. Every authenticated doctor, hospital, and pharmacy is a part of the network. There is no point in being a doctor if there was a chance that the citizen will not be able to cover for their services. Health1 provides for doctor visits, prescriptions, an essential surgeries, and physical therapy programs. In addition, mental health will be covered as well as hospital admissions.

Health1 does not cover for elective surgeries such as a tummy tuck, or breast enhancement surgeries. If any surgery is required, then the specialist must apply for the surgery, and define why the patient needs the surgery. In addition, any serious medications must be prescribed by a specialist in that field. For example, only anesthesiologists can prescribe opioid painkillers. Another doctor can prescribe any medicine, but if not related to their field, then there is only a maximum of a 14 day supply. For example, a dentist can prescribe a painkiller for 7 days after dental surgery, but if a pain killer was needed for long term, then the anesthesiologist is required to prescribe it. Certain medicines will require that the pharmacy clerk sees the ID card, and compares the photo with the person picking up the prescription.

All prescriptions must be delivered to the pharmacy by electronic means. A pharmacy chain can send a prescription that the one store can not fill, but another can. Since this will be within the same network, then this is not an issue. However, if the patient needs or wishes to change pharmacy chains, then they must get new prescriptions sent electronically to the new pharmacy. This is to reduce abuse for the system.
